About this role
The Second In Command (SIC) reports administratively to the Chief Pilot and to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) during flight. The SIC assists the PIC in preparing and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures. Must reside within the St. Petersburg, Florida (PIE) region.
Conduct safe and efficient flight operations for domestic trip assignments under Part 135 regulations while maintaining a high level of customer service. Greet passengers, assist with seating and luggage storage, conduct passenger briefings, and respond to passenger requests and needs. Adhere to all duties and responsibilities in company procedures manuals.
Maintain a high degree of professionalism and ability to coordinate and lead the crew. Work environment includes exposure to loud noises from airplane machinery and jet engines, typical outdoor and industrial hangar settings, some extreme temperatures due to travel, and tight business aircraft interiors.
Physical demands require ability to see and hear clearly, read and speak English clearly, climb, bend, crouch, move in tight quarters, sit or stand for extended periods, work in all weather, and lift or push up to 70 pounds. Travel required 100% while on rotation with a 6 on 8 off schedule.
Requirements
- Current first-class medical certificate
- Self-starter who is highly motivated with strong initiative and a positive attitude
- Ability to perform consistently in a fast-paced environment
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong problem-solving skills under pressure
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
- Detail orientation and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and efficient flight operations for domestic trip assignments operating under Part 135 regulations while maintaining a high level of customer service
- Adhere to the duties and responsibilities stated in all company procedures manuals
- Maintain a current first-class medical certificate and notify the company if a medical condition may impair flight duties
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism and ability to coordinate and lead the crew
- Greet passengers and assist with passenger seating and luggage storage
- Conduct passenger briefings and respond to passenger requests and needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
