Air Traffic Controllers at CAE oversee the movement of NFTI air traffic at Gondia airport, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient flying training. They direct aircraft efficiently to minimize delays while prioritizing safety in all operations. Their role involves managing flow within airport airspace and guiding pilots during takeoff and landing.

Daily responsibilities include providing traffic information to air and ground traffic, ensuring adequate separation and preventing collisions between aircraft. Controllers maintain logs of all flights operating at the airport and monitor serviceability status of various sub-systems. They report any malfunctions or degradation promptly to respective departments for priority rectification.

Controllers coordinate with CNS, ARFF, ELECTRIC ALS, and other agencies for seamless flying operations. They also liaise with adjacent Air Traffic Control units and perform periodic runway inspections. Incident reporting to ARFF and relevant departments is crucial, along with actions per contingency plans for aircraft emergencies.

This position offers hands-on experience in high-stakes aviation environments, focusing on safety and efficiency. Growth comes through managing real-time air traffic challenges and inter-agency collaborations.

Requirements

  • Preferably CPL holder or with Flight Radio Telephony License or defense background with experience in handling air traffic
  • Minimum Passed 10+2
  • Preferably having aviation experience of at least 2 years
  • Well versed communicating in English and aviation terminology

Responsibilities

  • Control and coordinate the movement of NFTI air traffic ensuring smooth, safe and efficient flying training
  • Coordinate with CNS/ARFF/ELECTRIC ALS and other agencies for smooth and efficient functioning of flying operation
  • Provide traffic information to all traffic in air and ground, ensure adequate separation and prevent collision between aircraft, and maintain log of all flights operating at Gondia airport
  • Monitor serviceability status of various sub-systems and report malfunctioning/degradation/failure to respective departments for rectification on priority
  • Coordinate between NFTI Traffic and other adjacent Air Traffic Control units
  • Report any incident/accident to ARFF and respective departments and take actions in accordance with contingency plans for aircraft emergency/accident
  • Carry out periodic runway inspections
