
About this role
AirTanker is seeking a dynamic Crew Controller to ensure the seamless execution of our flying programme for both Voyager Force and AirTanker Services. This is a shift based role including days and nights attracting a shift rate allowance of £8,190. In this fast-paced, mission-critical role, you’ll manage crew rosters and respond to operational changes.
You’ll be the central point of contact for crewing, liaising with internal teams, external partners, and ensuring every flight is crewed safely and efficiently. Monitor and update crew rosters within a 5-day operational window. Make real-time decisions to minimise disruption to flight schedules.
Work closely with Squadron teams, Crew Scheduling, Engineering, and Logistics to ensure seamless coordination across military and civilian operations. AirTanker is a vital part of the UK’s defence capability, delivering air-to-air refuelling and air transport services to the RAF and MOD. Your quick decisions support both military and civilian operations, maintaining flight readiness and continuity.

Requirements
- Experience in a crewing environment (desirable)
- Strong IT skills – ideally with AIMS or similar crewing software
- Knowledge of CAA regulations and fatigue management (preferred)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure and make critical decisions
Responsibilities
- Monitor and update crew rosters within a 5-day operational window

- Coordinate crew HOTAC and travel arrangements
- Ensure compliance with contractual and charter obligations
- Supervise Crew Duty Officers and support training initiatives
