About this role

Handshake is recruiting Commercial Pilot Professionals to contribute to an hourly, temporary AI research project. No AI experience needed. Leverage your professional experience to evaluate AI model outputs, assess field-related content, and deliver clear, structured feedback that strengthens the model's understanding of workplace tasks and language.

The Handshake AI opportunity runs year-round, with project opportunities opening periodically across expertise areas. Placement depends on project availability; if unavailable now, more projects will open soon. Work remotely and asynchronously from wherever you are.

Hours are flexible with no minimum commitment, averaging 5-20 hours. Develop prompts for AI models reflecting your field, then evaluate responses. Work independently without fixed schedules.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience as a commercial pilot
  • Check aircraft prior to flights to ensure engines, controls, instruments, and systems are functioning properly
  • Co-pilot aircraft or perform captain’s duties as required
  • Calculate takeoff requirements by considering airport altitude, temperature, aircraft weight, and wind conditions
  • Monitor engine performance, fuel consumption, and aircraft systems during flight
  • Communicate with control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions, and operational information
  • Plan flights in accordance with government and company regulations using aeronautical charts and navigation instruments
  • Start engines, operate controls, and pilot aircraft according to flight plans and procedures
