About this role
Act as Pilot in Command on any of Hydro One Networks Inc helicopter fleet. Responsible for the operation and safety of the helicopter commanded and for the safety of all persons onboard during flight time. Holds final authority for the disposition of the helicopter while in command.
Ensures the helicopter is operated in accordance with all applicable orders, standard operation procedures and regulations. Provides liaison with existing and potential customers to determine scheduling of the helicopter fleet. Communicates necessary expertise for helicopter related work to customers.
Based at Barrie, Ontario location in the LEGAL, FINANCE & REGULATORY / SHARED SRVCS / HLCPTR SVR-2 department. Required to reside within 50km of BAA to facilitate on call duties. Operates within a jurisdiction that is supervisory.
Demonstrates good judgment and decision making ability regarding the helicopter and its operation. Maintains the appropriate level of skill necessary in different helicopter types to perform all specialty flying. Contributes to a culture based on safety, innovation and inclusiveness at Hydro One.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade XII education with aviation background and valid commercial (or higher) helicopter license
- Thorough knowledge of helicopter related technology and current on all Transport Canada regulations
- Minimum of 3000 flight hours with current experience on Airbus AS350/AS355 series helicopters
- Sufficient level of bush or field experience to fly into remote locations and between airports
- Experience in all types of external load operations, powerline patrols, working close to high voltage lines and longlining operations
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Good communication skills
- Sensitivity towards customers and customer needs
