Daily tasks include lifting items up to 70 lbs., pushing carts, and driving tugs or belt loaders for loading and unloading. Ascend jet-way stairs, bend to stack cargo, and clean aircraft interiors including lavatories. Read load sheets, tags, and labels to prepare aircraft securely.

Communicate via radio with coworkers and flight crew while complying with United and FAA regulations. Operate ground equipment and use computers or mobile devices as needed. Expect variable shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overtime.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Must acquire and maintain credentials including fingerprint clearance, airport badging, and background check
  • Successful completion of pre-employment process including drug screen, hearing, and vision check
  • Available to work any shift including day/night, weekends, holidays; mandatory overtime may be required
  • Must be able to carry, bend, lift and turn with bags weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Lift baggage, boxes, or cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. throughout shift
  • Push/pull loaded and empty carts during loading/unloading operations
  • Ascend/descend jet-way stairs while carrying baggage
  • Bend/stoop and crawl to move and stack/unstack cargo in aircraft
  • Drive ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and bag carts
  • Clean interior of aircraft and service lavatories
  • Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labels
  • Ensure compliance with United and FAA regulations and policies
