About this role
NHV Group is a European-based helicopter service provider specialized in business-to-business services both offshore and onshore. The Helicopter Hoist Operator combines technical skills as a Licensed Line Engineer with performing hoist flights to transport passengers to wind farms. Safety management and good communication are crucial in this role.
You execute scheduled and unscheduled Helicopter Hoist Operations (HHO) flights and crew change flights. Daily tasks include inspecting hoist systems, operating controls to raise or lower personnel, and providing pilot guidance on positioning and obstacles. You halt operations immediately if unsafe conditions arise.
Work in a small team of engineers, pilots, and hoist operators, following the helicopter to bases in Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Belgium, or other European locations as requested. Report functionally to the Maintenance Lead and hierarchically to the Base Manager in Esbjerg. Promote team spirit and respect the code of conduct and Drugs & Alcohol policy.
Perform line maintenance ensuring tasks meet BCAA/EASA and MOE standards, recording work in files and certifying tasks. Raise non-routine findings and ensure independent inspections on safety-critical tasks. Maintain clean workspaces and flexible rosters for business continuity.
Requirements
- Experienced Helicopter Hoist Operator
- Licensed Line Engineer
- Knowledge of NHV procedures and Flight Operations Manual
- Familiarity with hoist systems, cables, hooks, harnesses, and safety equipment
- Ability to work on aircraft and components per Work Orders
- Proficiency in standardized aviation terminology
- Compliance with safety regulations and MOE procedures
Responsibilities
- Carry out HHO flight duties in accordance with NHV Operations SOP's
- Inspect hoist systems, cables, hooks, harnesses, and safety equipment
- Conduct safety briefings with passengers and flight crew
- Operate hoist controls smoothly to raise/lower personnel or cargo
- Provide precise directional guidance to the pilot on clearance, obstacles, and positioning
- Ensure all maintenance tasks meet BCAA/EASA and MOE instructions
- Record all performed maintenance in the work file and certify tasks
- Report safety hazards and mandatory occurrences via NHV system
