About this role
Metrea delivers effects-as-a-service to national security partners across airborne ISR, electronic warfare, secure communications, and special mission aviation. The Avionics Engineer role within Aerospace Design (ASD) provides engineering design and certification support for avionics integration into general aviation, business, transport, and military derivative aircraft. This supports major alterations and Supplemental Type Certificate development via FAA and Peregrine ODA.
You will review customer requirements, including Statements of Work, and conduct research and analysis of project needs. Review aircraft specifications to determine system interfaces and electrical load budgets, perform surveys with limited travel, and create interconnect drawings using AutoCAD. Develop Installation Data Packages with fabrication, assembly, installation drawings, and reports.
Part of the Aerospace Engineering Group (AERO), this role operates within the Airborne Asset Adaptation (A3) Cell and Aircraft Integration Centre (AIC), a Part 145 facility. ASD delivers organic design engineering and FAA-authorized certification for mission-ready assets. Work in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking independently with strong attention to detail.
Metrea connects design with effect through vertically integrated capabilities under one roof. Benefit from continuous cycles of innovation while enabling partners to scale capacity and achieve asymmetric advantage. Headquartered in Washington, DC, with facilities across the US, UK, Europe, and beyond.
