Ramp Agents work outside to guide planes, move bags and cargo, and help with de-icing planes during cold weather. This busy, hands-on job keeps the operation running smoothly. Working together helps flights leave on time.

This is a part-time opportunity where Employees generally work 32 hours over 5 days. Schedules are determined in accordance with a seniority-based bidding process. New Hires will complete 4-6 weeks of training with 8 hours of classroom or on-the-job training over 5 days each week.

Requirements

  • Current resident of the State of Maryland for external applicants
  • No phone, virtual, or in-person interview for Ramp Agent at BWI within last 12 months
  • Ability to complete 4-6 weeks of initial training
  • Available to work 32 hours over 5 days per week
  • Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physically able to lift and handle heavy bags and cargo
  • Able to participate in seniority-based schedule bidding

Responsibilities

  • Guide planes to parking positions
  • Move bags and cargo to and from aircraft
  • Assist with de-icing planes during cold weather
  • Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail
  • Position ground equipment around aircraft
  • Marshal aircraft for safe parking
  • Service aircraft to support timely departures
  • Work together to keep ramp operations running smoothly
