About this role

The Duty Manager Light Maintenance reports to Senior Manager Aircraft Maintenance (Line and Light Maintenance) and acts as the contact person for Senior Management and MCC on all daily Light Maintenance activities. Fully qualified under GCAA, maintains certification privileges to certify aircraft as fit for service. Deputizes for the SM L&L and liaises with MCC for efficient scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Liaises with Aircraft Maintenance Supervisors to ensure continuity, attends shift meetings, and implements SMS systems with formal Risk Assessments for changes. Ensures maintenance to highest aviation standards, certifies own and others' work per approved data, and monitors aircraft documentation for accurate release to service. Reviews working practices, leave, sickness, and training currency to optimize resources.

Promotes a safe, secure environment, manages incidents to minimize loss, and ensures compliance with health and safety. Ensures shift handovers, facility cleanliness, and license validity with the Administration Officer. Behaves professionally with customers and provides resources for Safety Management System development.

Requirements

  • High School leaving Certificate or education to university/college degree
  • Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License convertible to GCAA with minimum 2 Etihad aircraft types (level 3)
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance of which 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience managing Base/Light Maintenance operations in an Airline or MRO
  • Fully qualified under GCAA with certification privileges to certify aircraft as fit for service

Responsibilities

  • Ensure validity of licenses and authorizations held by shift members with the Administration Officer
  • Ensure maintenance carried out to highest aviation industry standards and aircraft returned to service within agreed flying program
  • Certify own work and work of others after verifying tasks performed per approved maintenance data
  • Monitor aircraft documentation for accuracy and timely certification for release to service
  • Review leave of absence, accident reports, sickness documentation, and take necessary action
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and appropriate shift handover
  • Liaise between Aircraft Maintenance Supervisors for continuity and attend shift meetings
  • Monitor training currency of employees to prevent any overdue
